Untreated sewage discharge at Trevone Bay

sewage pipe The waters in and around Trevone Bay are contaminated with untreated sewage. The sewage that is discharged onto Rocky Beach in Trevone is supposed to be pumped up to Trecerus Industrial Estate where it is treated, but because of a combination of factors this isn’t always happening.

These factors include:

  • Illegal groundwater/ surface water inlets from the fields surrounding Trevone village.
  • An overwhelmed pumping station.
  • A deteriorating overflow pipeline discharges the liquid waste onto Rocky beach itself at an unconsented location.

Despite commitments to repair the pipeline and fix the system, South West Water still haven’t done so. You can help by liking the Clean Up Trevone Beach Facebook page and by contacting local MP Dan Rogerson.
